Ducati has revealed the new and updated version of its power cruiser Diavel for 2015, featuring the latest dual-spark version of Ducati’s Testastretta 11° engine, the same engine used in the Multistrada and most recently, Monster 1200 models.
The 2015 Ducati Diavel is powered by the latest version of the water-cooled Testastretta 11° (with dual sparkplugs in each of its four-valve head) 1198cc engine. The engine also receives revised intake and exhaust ports and cam timing, making the bike’s compression ratio jumps from 11.5:1 to 12.5:1. As a result, asphalt-tearing torque has increased from 94 ft-lb. to 96.3 ft-lb. at 8,000 rpm and peak horsepower is 162 hp, the same as the last-generation Diavel, though the 2015 Diavel reaches that peak 250 revs sooner, at 9250 rpm. The engine is linked to a six-speed transmission and its new exhaust system is of the two-into-one-into-two variety with shorter silencers.
The 2015 Ducati Diavel also receives cosmetic updates, including
The 2015 Ducati Diavel also comes equipped with all the latest technology, including the new LED headlight and turn signals which match the original Diavel’s LED taillight, the tank-mounted TFT screen now with fuel gauge and side-stand TFT instrumentation icons. The new clear-lens LED front turn indicators mounted in the revamped radiator covers.
Other upgrades include a revised seat and bar-risers.
The 2015 Ducati Diavel will be offered in two versions, standard and carbon. The standard model has a claimed dry weight of 463 pounds and 527 pounds wet, while the 2015 Ducati Diavel carbon shaves a nine pounds.
The standard 2015 Ducati Diavel retails $17,995, and it will come in Dark Stealth, featuring black frame, wheels and exhaust. The 2015 Ducati Diavel Carbon will be available in Ducati Red Carbon with red frame, or the new Star White with a white frame. The Carbon version is priced at $20,995 and it gets stainless steel exhausts and black forged aluminum Marchesini wheels.
