Yamaha has introduced a new range-topping version of its adventure-touring entry, the Yamaha Super Ténéré. Called the 2014 Yamaha Super Ténéré ES, the bike gets a long list of new features including a modest boost in power, an all-new LCD instrumentation, LED signals, KYB electronically-adjustable suspension, heated grips, a 4-position windscreen, a tapered aluminum handlebar, standard cruise control, and the latest D-MODE switchable mapping “for refined town and sport settings”.
With those new features and its 6.1-gallon tank full of fuel, the 2014 Yamaha Super Ténéré ES has a curb weight of 584 poundss – 10 pounds heavier than the standard Super Ténéré. The ES is powered by a 1199 c.c. parallel-twin engine with a 86 lbs.ft of peak torque – up from the original model’s 84.2 lbs.ft. Unfortunately, Yamaha didn’t reveal yet on how much horsepower has been added to the Super Ténéré ES.
The 2014 Yamaha Super Ténéré ES was offered in Europe, and will arrive at canadian dealerships by the end of April with a price tag of $17,499 CAD. It is available only in Matte Metallic Grey paint, while the original model is offered in both Matte Metallic Grey and Deep Purplish Blue Metallic colorway.
No word on its US availability at the moment.
