The 2013 MV Agusta F4 is now available in ABS version.
The anti-lock braking system with RLM (anti-rear wheel lift) installed upon the MV Agusta F4 offers “a significant contribution in terms of both safety and performance, under all driving conditions”.
It’s the Bosch’s compact, lightweight 9MPlus control unit, available for an an extra €1000 (US$1,311). The Bosch 9MPlus control unit has pressure sensors that interface with the two phonic wheels, one per wheel. MV Agusta claims sophisticated algorithms reduce the braking distances on low-traction surfaces, as well as preventing the dangerous locking of the wheels and keeping the rear wheel from lifting off the asphalt.
The ABS system also offers two modes which can be selected using the handlebar controls: Normal mode for regular use, and Race mode which limits the system’s intervention for track use or while on roadways. Furthermore, the system can also be disengaged by the rider.
The Bosch ABS will be available for the MV Agusta F4, F4 R, and F4 RR.
