Suzuki has released the details of its new 2012 Suzuki GSX-R1000 ahead of its debut at the EICMA show on November 8 2011.
The 2012 Suzuki GSX-R1000 is powered by liquid-cooled 999cc Inline-Four engine that has been improved for additional acceleration, fuel efficiency and throttle response. The supersports bike also comes with new chassis, suspension and a pair of MotoGP-style Brembo monobloc brake callipers as well as 11% lighter pistons that echances acceleration. That change alone reduced the overall weight of the bike by 4.4 lbs.
Suzuki says “this combined with a finer material for engine tappets shaves a further 2.5 grams off per tappet, resulting in optimized valve lift with a revised exhaust cam profile for a slight reduction in valve overlap. Compression ratio is also increased from 12.8:1 to 12.9:1.”
Furthermore, the Suzuki GSX-R1000 features single-side 4-2-1 exhaust system, with a lightweight titanium silencer. The wheels comes with red pinstrips and wraped with Bridgestone’s new high-performance S20 road tyres.
The 2012 Suzuki GSX-R1000 is available two different colors: Metallic Mat Black with Glass Sparkle Black and Metallic Triton Blue with Glass Splash White. The 2012 Suzuki GSX-R1000 is expected to arrive in U.S. dealerships spring next year and is priced at $13,799.
