Triumph 250cc Twin Cylinder Motorcycle Coming to India and Indonesia Next Year

UK based Triumph will produce a 250cc twin-cylinder bike for Indian and Indonesian Markets, in 2014. The naked bike is also expected to be sold in other select South East Asian countries.

According to Rudhy Siswanto, president director of PT Global Motorcycle Trading, sole sub-distributor of Triumph in Indonesia, the new Triumph 250cc twin cylinder motorcycle will be produced at the company’s new factory in Narasapur, a 31 miles drive away from Bangalore, India.

The new factory is focused on small engines. Siswanto also says that its 250cc engine will be liquid cooled and the new model will be a naked streetbike, like the Triumph Street Triple, although the new 250cc bike will be equipped with a single big headlamp instead of two headlamps on Street Triple. Designed for Asian, the new bike will also features lower seat and footrests compared to the other models for American and European.

The 2014 Triumph 250cc naked streetbike is expected compete against naked sportsbikes such as the KTM 200 Duke and the Suzuki GW250.

Pricing in Indonesia is expected to be 60-70 million Indonesian rupiahs or about US6,200-7,200.
