First introducted as concept at the epic 2011 edition of EICMA, the first production motorcycle of the CRP Energica has finally made its public debut, last mounth at the 2012 EICMA Show in Milan.
The electric sportbike packs an oil-cooled permanent magnet AC motor that is connected with a single-speed gearbox, delivering 134 hp, which is higher compared to the Brammo Empulse R‘s claim of 54 hp. According to chief engineer Giampiero Testoni, the “green” superbike accelerates from 0-62 mph in about 3.3 seconds and has a top speed of 134 mph.
CRP also claims a range of 93.2 miles 50 mph at from its 11.7 kWh lithium battery, though range will vary with terrain and by which throttle map rider’ve selected. Other features include Marchesini wheels, Schedoni seat, Brembo monobloc calipers, as well as a fully-adjustable Marzocchi fork and a fully-adjustable Sachs monoshock.
CRP is now taking online orders for the Energica with the first deliveries will begin in 2014 for customers in the U.S. and Europe. The Energica is priced at 18,000 euros, excluding VAT.
