2013 Kawasaki Ninja 250R

The Kawasaki Japan website has been posted the some details and photos of the new 2013 Kawasaki Ninja 250R ahead of its public debut.

Kawasaki Ninja 250R is known as one of the best selling motorcycles in the United States. For 2013 model year, the Kawasaki Ninja 250R gets major changes including revised bodywork, an updated engine and chassis, to face competition in Honda‘s last-year-launch CBR250R which has stolen some of the Ninjette’s sales, locally and internationally.

According to the website, the 2013 Kawasaki Ninja 250R sports an updated 249cc Parallel Twin engine with new die-cast aluminum sleeveless cylinders treated with an anti-friction coating, crank cases and pistons, along with dual throttle valves found in its brothers the Kawasamj ZX-10R and ZX-6R for the revamped fuel injection system. The new 2013 Kawasaki Ninja 250R is claimed to make more torque in the low and midrange, when compared to its predecessor.

As for the chassis, the 2013 Kawasaki Ninja 250R features new high-tensile diamond-style steel frame which is more rigid and has more rubber bushings than the previous frame to reduce vibrations. The front and rear suspensions also have been upgraded to work in concert with wider 140mm tires for a better performing chassis, offering better comfort for city riding and firmer feeling for sportier riding.

Other features include ZX-14R-styled 10-spoke wheels, a new instrument panel with analog tachometer and multi-function LCD screen which displays displays fuel gauge, dual trip meters, clock and an “economical riding indicator.” The 2013 Kawasaki Ninja 250R also will be offered with an optional ABS which will provide amazing stopping prowess.

Visually, the 2013 Kawasaki Ninja 250R gets styling influences from the Kawasaki ZX-10R and the ZX-14R. It comes equipped with dual headlamps, new side fairings with ZX-14R-like air vents, and a floating windscreen attached using only the mirror mounts inspired by the
ZX-10R.

No further details yet. The baby Ninja will be produced in a number of regular and special edition color options, including Passion Red, Ebony and Pearl Stardust White with special edition versions in Passion Red/Stardust White, Ebony/Metallic Moondust Gray, and Lime Green/Ebony.
